This has been an unexpected journey for me, the scripture "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14) rings so true in my spirit, being a message of divine purpose, reminding us that we are all uniquely created to make an impact right where we are. I love God with all my heart and this journey is to Honour Him, and to be a vessel for Him to shine through. I thought I would be coaching women with their relationships, emotional wellbeing, health and wellness only. But after major burn out from pushing myself physically and emotionally to hard, I finally softened myself to let God lead...Truly Lead. He kindly helped me realize I had made an idol out of my body, and that it was vanity, not the reasons I was telling myself. There can be a fine line where we convince ourselves of something that may not be true.
I believe we are all created for a purpose and that we are Created to Create. After realizing I had missed the mark by taking control again, I took time to rest and I became aware that I wasn't the only one that needed Sacred Nourishment. Being an older mom, I had my son with the love of my life when I was 40, and now in my 50's, going through menopause with a new teenager, the demands and the reasons to stay vibrant, healthy and nourished are so close to home. I cannot do this on my own, I need the Lord to guide my steps and what He has been showing me, I want to share with you... So bless you Beloved Sister for being here, I look forward to gardening on this journey with you.

The journey of surrender, letting God take the Lead and form us in His/Their image, to allow the Divine timing to unfold without getting in the way.
That has been one of the biggest struggles for me, my tendency is to want take control and make things happen. But I have learned when I let Him lead, more is possible than I could ever imagine, and this journey has all led here.

'In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven' Mathew 5:16
To allow God's light to flow through us is not always easy, when the darkness wants to overcome and take us out. The Light comes after the darkest part of the night... and that is where Faith steps in. To believe something that is opposite of what it 'looks like' is the true call of faith.
Hebrews 11:1 'Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen' ESV...'Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see' NIV.
ASSURANCE, CONFIDENCE and CONVICTION of things not seen but hoped for.
So even though it may not feel like you have God's light to shine, stand in Faith Beloved Sister. I am here to remind you that you are.

Transformation is possible, like a caterpillar to a butterfly, and the messy space in between. We can transform quickly but it can also come at a cost if we are not present and careful.
I have gone from depressed, angry, sick and tired of constantly feeling sick and tired, to doing an 8 week body transformation challenge, feeling amazing and winning! But then the addiction of more and 'better' idolizing my body came at a price. The obsession over calories and reps took its toll into another kind of exhaustion.
That is the birth story of The Nourishing Garden, there is a middle path your uncompromising True Self, made in the image of God.

Look at the way God is so creative, the beauty of the colours, the textures and the delicate design of these glorious flowers. The beauty of His unique creation is everywhere, especially IN you!
I have created this Nourishing Garden Journey to help you connect to that creative impulse in your heart, it is there even though you may not feel it. God has Created you to Create, the hard part is setting time aside and surrendering to the Holy Spirit.
Start by gathering the supplies suggested. Create some non negotiable undisturbed time for yourself, even ten minutes. Collect all the images, papers, words that inspire you and start tearing and gluing down in what ever way feels right to you. This is your journey to discover your creative spark that God has given you.
You can take the file to Staples or any other place that does printing, I live on a small island in the Pacific Northwest of Canada, our Pharmacy does printing. Maybe even if you have a friend doing it with you she could print it for you if she has a printer.
You were born to Create! We are created in God's image and He is the creator of all. Once you have collected your supplies, carve out some undisturbed time. Take a deep breath and allow inspiration to come. Start, right where you are, collecting papers, images, words, anything you are inspired by and glue it down on the page. Anywhere you feel you want it. This is not about judging yourself to be perfect, but it is about the 'process'! How does it feel, do you truly like these colours or how they go together. Feel free to cover up what you don't like. Come back to it as often as you can. It is a practice...not perfection we are after.
When you feel like you are ready, spread out and try new things! Try paint, pencil crayons, fabric, dried flowers, anything goes and you will see what works and what doesn't.
God is with us always, and is in us. If you take the time to be silent with Him and don't feel like you can connect, persevere. The more you come to Him the more He will be present with you. Listen closely and start noticing the nudges inside that feel like a small quiet voice reaching towards you. Maybe a scripture with come in your mind or if you have a journal and a pen you may feel the inspiration to write some words down. I find I just start writing what I think He is saying and I am always surprised at what comes.
If you feel really lost, start with reading and meditating on your favourite scripture, allowing God and the Holy Spirit to give you a revelation of His word.
Remember this is a process... a practice. To keep showing up to something that may feel uncomfortable, as you surrender, I promise, you will discover your way through to a deeper connection to the creative spark within you. And you can always glue other images or paint over top of what you have done, or start another page, taking what you have learned forward. This is for you and it should be FUN!!
Remember to take a break if you are feeling frustrated.
Create when you can. Even Sunday night, look at your schedule for the week and see if there are any pockets of time that you may be able to add small chunks of creative time? Like a non negotiable appointment with yourself? You would never cancel a doctors appointment, so see these as little pockets of Sacred Nourishments for your health and wellness.
This journal journey is between you and God, for you to feel the spark of creativity He has placed within you. There is never pressure to share you work, it your private journal.
I would absolutely love to see and hear what you have discovered about your creativity. Please feel free to email me at [email protected], or share on any social media, tagging me so I can connect with you!
